Hello! I am a student in biomechanics at Vassar College with an interest in studying cardiac diseases. More specifically, I am interested in exploring three main questions about a specific cardiac condition, known as heart failure (HF):
- What are the structural changes to the heart caused by CHF?
- How do those changes affect the biomechanical function of the heart?
- How do these changes also affect other system in the body?
The rest of this website serves as a research portfolio to address these questions by investigating what heart failure is in general, treatments for HF, biomechanics of normal cardiac function, biomechanics of a diseased heart, effects on metabolic efficiency and gas exchange efficiency, as well as an analysis of a dataset predicting the death of patients with HF.
